E-LLUM A/C SYSTEM FEATURES

The main benefit that we foresee for E-LLUM A/C System, as a new solution for EV, are:

1)    REDUCTION OF TOTAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION OVER THE ENTIRE PERIOD OF USE (especially during the hotter season)

This data show that we aspire to reduce the total energy consumption over the entire season of use, especially when it is most needed. The very abstracted infographic below explains the macro-principle.

The performance of any heat pump based either on a compressor cycle or an absorption cycle is strictly related to the external working conditions. In the weakly warm season, the compressor pump works very well but it’s also moderately useful. While its efficiency is drastically lower in a very hot season when cooling is more required. Instead the absorption pump could increase its performances when the external temperature is higher. The graphic below shows the theoretical efficiency trends of the both pump.

2)    Lower NOISE EMISSIONS, reduced VIBRATIONS and Greener PROFILE

The absorption heat pump system doesn’t employ corrosive chemical materials) and use mainly green components in its cycle (while vapor compression heat pumps use toxic and greenhouse gases).

3)    EXTREMELY LOW MAINTENANCE COST FOR LONG PERIODS

One of major advantage of the absorption heat pumps is that they do not need maintenance for long periods since they do not contain any moving parts and even advanced systems have a few simple moving parts. This type of heat pump does not require changing of the absorbent–absorbate pairs for a long period of time.

4)    ECONOMIC PROFILE

As anticipated above, the system contains little to none moving parts ; E-llum A/C System will be endowed by passive absorbant reactor that entails a more economical solution than compressor solution. This target achievements should be considered only after the industrialisation phase.

5)    LIGHTNESS

The E-llum A/C System should occupy the minimum size because each parts will be optimised and the cooling energy source will come from other car element or the external element. Anyway the system will be designed for fitting with the engine and other car element. As above, this target could be achieved only after the industrialisation phase.
